Lab Integrated Data

Open Data Management Platform for Modern Biology

Inventory Biobanking Lab Notebook Datasets Workflows

An all-included FAIR research data-management web platform for scientists. Effortlessly keep track of your specimen, samples, protocols, lab inventory, assays, and datasets. Document your processes into the Electronic Lab Notebook and as Workflow runs.

LabID Concept Diagram

Lab Management

Inventory Management

Track and share your consumables (plasmids, antibodies...) and equipment (microscopes, sequencers...). New inventory types can easily be added and customised.

Protocol Management

Easily create, version and share well-formatted protocols, embedding tables and pictures. Copy-paste from existing Word document also works!

Sample Management

Manage your samples and reflect your experiment design (e.g. parent-child relationships) into a sample lineage graph (unlimited steps); supporting sample branching and merging.

Specimen Management

Manage all your living specimen collections (mouse, flies, patients, cell lines...) that are the origin of your samples.

Biobanking

Track sample and specimen exact storage locations in custom storage places with unlimited nesting (e.g. Freezer > Drawers > Rack > Plate...). Track shipments of your biobank items to collaborators or customers.

Electronic Lab Notebook

Write all your notes into word-like Experiments embedding tables, pictures. Link to Protocols, Samples & inventory items consumed in the Experiment. Easily share your Experiments with your colleagues; and organise them into Projects.

Assay Management

Sequencing

Store & share raw and derived datasets. Connect raw data (e.g. FastQ files) to the assays (run parameters, instruments) and samples used to acquire them. Track datasets lineage and connect final results to raw data (unlimited steps).

Light Microscopy

Out of the box support for image data from light & fluorescent microscopy assay including plate-based screens; describe key metadata for the XYZCT dimensions (unlimited channel number).

Electron Microscopy

Out of the box support for room temperature and cryo- Electron Microscopy i.e. TEM, vEM and Tomography setups. Specific sample type allows for flexible description of e.g. grid preparation, vitrification & FIB milling.

Generic Assays

You are not using sequencing or microscopy? No worries, just use generic assays to store your special assays for which we haven't developed a specific model. Use your own assay types to categorize them, and your own annotations to track key metadata.

Interactive Wizard

Use our flexible and user-friendly data registration wizard to register assay details with generated raw data and originating samples.

Dataset Management

Dataset Management

Store & share raw and derived datasets. Connect raw data (e.g. FastQ files) to the assays (run parameters, instruments) and samples used to acquire them. Track datasets lineage and connect final results to raw data (unlimited steps).

Automated Data Ingestion

Automatically ingest data and metadata (e.g. from core facilities) using our CLI, or create your own client by consuming our API. Data owners are notified by email upon new data registration.

Workflows

Import workflows from Git or define them from scratch using LabID user interface. Track the full provenance of your analysed data by connecting it to the exact versions of workflows and computation parameters used through WorkflowRun.

Share with S3

Share or publish a copy of your data with internal and external collaborators easily by sending it to an S3 bucket in just a few clicks.

Archive & Restore

Send data to cold storage to save on storage costs and restore it to its original location as and when required. Write your own plugin to integrate archiving and restoration operations with your infrastructure.

Data Copy Management

Easily track and manage (e.g., delete) copies of your data stored on different storage volumes (local, S3, archives ...) to optimize your costs and save CO2 emissions.

Availability

Export

Download lab collections as Excel spreadsheets, get a copy of your ELN as a static website when you leave the lab, or publish studies (data and metadata) to public repositories (e.g. ENA) are just few examples.

Open Source

No vendor Lock-In. Join the community and contribute new features to LabID, or fork your own project.

Protected

RFC 3161 compliant timestamping of your ELN protects your discoveries (intellectual property).

Cross-platform

Use your favorite operating system. You only need a recent browser.

Learn

Learn how to use LabID using our extensive online training materials, demo web site and documentation.

Third Party Integrations

Galaxy

Send dataset collections to Galaxy in few clicks, run your favorite Galaxy workflows and store back analysed data. Import Galaxy Workflows and Workflow Invocation into LabID to track full provenance of analysed data down to samples and your ELN notes.

WorkflowHub

Import workflow from WorkflowHub, publish your own workflows to WorkflowHub.

Libre Office Online

Directly modify any attached office document. No need to download.

CLI

Use the Command Line Interface to easily import and export data & metadata.

API

Integrate your application with the REST API. Here everything is possible.
